Cloud computing is getting attention in Bangladesh. A short timeline of Cloud Computing  has been discussed:

2010: The Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services plays a vital role in arranging seminars to promote this technology.

2012: Grameenphone was the one who first introduced the GP cloud-based service.

2013: The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) issued guidelines regarding the adoption of this technology.

2015: Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Mumbai, India, opens the door for Bangladeshi companies to get cloud computing services.

2016: The Central Bank of Bangladesh did issue guidelines for banks in usage of cloud computing services.

2018: Alibaba Group opened a data center in Bangladesh.

2019: The Bangladesh government issued the Digital Security Act, including cloud and cloud computing.

2020: COVID-19 propelled remote working, which increased the demand for cloud computing.

2021: Bangladesh’s Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology introduced the Cloud and Cloud Computing  Services Policy.

Cloud Computing  in Bangladesh Insurance by 2025

Cloud computing is in its infancy stage in Bangladesh, including insurance. As per the report of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), the cloud and cloud computing market value in Bangladesh was USD 13.67 million in 2019, which would be 23.2% from 2020 to 2025. Bangladesh Bank issued guidelines for cloud and cloud computing in the financial sector, including insurance, to ensure the security and privacy of data.
